Why Sohar students
Sohar is in North Al Batinah, home to a major port and industrial area, so many parents work shifts and Muscat is a long drive away. IB Biology lessons work from your child's HL or SL course, recent assessments and internal assessment deadlines, and are scheduled in Oman time. See all online tutors in Sohar.
Tell us the examination board, syllabus code, current level and topics requiring support. We will review your requirements and check which Biology tutor is suitable before confirming lessons.
Exam boards we cover
HL Biology is the standard route for Oman IB Diploma students targeting top medicine, engineering or quantitative university courses. Heavier content and a more demanding internal assessment.
SL Biology suits Sohar Diploma students keeping a balanced six-subject load. Same internal assessment framework, lighter syllabus depth.
Syllabus coverage
Our IB Biology tutors cover the full specification with extra depth on the topics where Sohar students most consistently lose marks.
Cell theory, ultrastructure, membranes and cell division.
DNA replication, transcription, translation and enzymes.
Chromosomes, meiosis, inheritance and genetic modification.
Energy flow, biogeochemical cycles and climate change.
Natural selection, classification and cladistics.
Digestion, circulation, immunity, nerves and hormones.
Investigation design, controlled variables and statistical analysis.
IB Paper 1, 2 and 3 mark-scheme drilling.

Book Free DemoWhat we fix
How we fix it:Rotating rosters and the drive to Muscat make fixed in-person Biology lessons hard. Online lessons remove the travel and leave more choice of times.
How we fix it:Tutors use past Biology papers and mark schemes to show where marks are won and lost, then practise those question types.
How we fix it:Biology lessons can shift around Ramadan timings, Eid, the November National Day holidays and mock weeks, without any travel.

Mrs Fatma Al Balushi, parent
IB Biology · Sohar International School (SISO) · Sohar
My son needed Biology support for SISO Year 13 mocks and we could not find an in-person specialist anywhere in Sohar. Online with Combo Tutors got him from a C to an A and into Sohar University Engineering.
Mr Vinod Krishnan, parent (Sohar Aluminium engineer)
IB Biology · Indian School Sohar (Falaj Al Qabail) · Sohar
Working shifts at Sohar Aluminium meant I could not run after Muscat tutors. Combo Tutors fitted Biology sessions around Ramadan and my roster — my daughter moved up two grades at Indian School Sohar.
Mr Imran Khan, parent (Sohar Refinery engineer)
IB Biology · Cambridge School Sohar · Sohar
We are at Sohar Refinery and wanted Biology prep strong enough for both SQU and a UK Russell Group backup. The past-paper and examiner-style drilling at Cambridge School Sohar level was the difference.
Sarah M.
Parent of IB Student · London
My daughter was struggling with IB Mathematics HL and had almost given up hope of getting a 7. After just two months of weekly sessions with her Combo Tutors tutor, her confidence soared and she went from a predicted 4 to a final grade of 6. The personalised approach made all the difference—her tutor identified exactly where the gaps were and worked through them systematically.
James P.
Parent of A-Level Student · Manchester
My son started tutoring for A-Level Physics about three months before his exams. His tutor was incredibly patient and broke down complex topics like electromagnetic induction into simple, intuitive steps. He ended up getting an A* which we genuinely didn't think was possible. I'd recommend Combo Tutors to any parent who wants a tutor that actually cares about your child's progress.
Priya K.
Parent of GCSE Student · Birmingham
We needed help with GCSE Science for my son who found chemistry particularly challenging. His tutor made the sessions engaging and relatable—using real-world examples that finally made reactions and bonding click for him. He improved by two grades and, more importantly, actually enjoys science now.
