Why Sur students
Sur is on the coast of South Al Sharqiyah, near the Qalhat LNG plant, and a long drive from Muscat's wider pool of subject specialists. A-Level Biology lessons start from your child's board, the papers or units still to come and recent marked work, with planning shaped by destinations such as Sultan Qaboos University and universities overseas. See all online tutors in Sur.
Tell us the examination board, syllabus code, current level and topics requiring support. We will review your requirements and check which Biology tutor is suitable before confirming lessons.
Exam boards we cover
A widely taught A-Level route at British and international schools in Oman. Linear AS + A2 structure with strong international university recognition.
Used by some Sur British curriculum schools. Modular structure means students can resit individual units — useful for Sur students balancing UCAS and US applications.
Smaller uptake, but offered by some schools serving Sur families repatriating to the UK.

Our A-Level Biology tutors cover the full specification with extra depth on the topics where Sur students most consistently lose marks.

How we fix it:Driving to Muscat for Biology lessons mid-week is not workable from Sur. Online lessons give students a wider choice of specialists from home.
How we fix it:Tutors use past Biology papers and mark schemes to show where marks are won and lost, then practise those question types.
How we fix it:Biology lessons can shift around Ramadan timings, Eid, the November National Day holidays and mock weeks, without any travel.

Mrs Fatma Al Hashar, parent
A-Level Biology · Sur International School (SUIS) · Ash Sharqiyah South · SQU offer
We are an Omani family in Sur and my daughter needed Cambridge Biology support that understood SUIS, not a generic UK tutor. Her A-Level grade moved from a C to an A* in two terms, and she has now accepted a place at Sultan Qaboos University.
Mr Vinod Krishnan, Oman LNG engineer
A-Level Biology · Sur Private School · Oman LNG family · Grade 9
I work 12-hour shifts at the Qalhat LNG plant, so a tutor who could schedule Biology around my rota and the Oman Ramadan timetable was non-negotiable. My son went from a 6 to a 9 in A-Level Biology at Sur Private School.
Mr Imran Pasha, Oman LNG contractor
A-Level Biology · Ahmed A., SUIS Year 13 → SQU Petroleum Engineering · Sur, Ash Sharqiyah South
Living in Sur, driving to Muscat for an A-Level Biology specialist was never realistic. Combo Tutors gave us a Cambridge examiner online, in Oman time, around Renaissance Day and the LNG-contractor calendar. My son is now reading Petroleum Engineering at SQU.

My daughter was struggling with IB Mathematics HL and had almost given up hope of getting a 7. After just two months of weekly sessions with her Combo Tutors tutor, her confidence soared and she went from a predicted 4 to a final grade of 6. The personalised approach made all the difference—her tutor identified exactly where the gaps were and worked through them systematically.
James P.
Parent of A-Level Student · Manchester
My son started tutoring for A-Level Physics about three months before his exams. His tutor was incredibly patient and broke down complex topics like electromagnetic induction into simple, intuitive steps. He ended up getting an A* which we genuinely didn't think was possible. I'd recommend Combo Tutors to any parent who wants a tutor that actually cares about your child's progress.
Priya K.
Parent of GCSE Student · Birmingham
We needed help with GCSE Science for my son who found chemistry particularly challenging. His tutor made the sessions engaging and relatable—using real-world examples that finally made reactions and bonding click for him. He improved by two grades and, more importantly, actually enjoys science now.
